Things have been fairly quiet around here with life focussed on Oliver reaching his 6 month milestone.
I did another mountain bike race at Pukete a couple of weekends ago. It was race 2 in the series. I was a couple of minutes slower this time, mostly because I had only done a couple of windtrainer sessions since race 1 but also because the wind was blowing a gale (and cold!) out in the park. I will remember to wear my arm and leg warmers next time, and try to do a better warm up.
I had thought I would do the N-Duro series of mountain bike races over in Rotorua, but at 45 bucks a pop, super early starts to drive over from Hamilton, and major juggling of Oliver's feeds/sleeps, I have decided to (sadly) give them a miss. Instead, I hope we can get over to Rotorua at some stage for some cruisy midday/midafternoon rides... possibly even hiring a bike trailer and taking Oliver with us (only on gravel roads though!). We'll have to keep an eye on the weather and pick a fine weekend.
